Fort Campbell, Ky.–The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) will conduct Operation Lethal Eagle, a division-wide, large-scale training exercise, according to Fort Campbell officials.
Through February 7, more than 7,000 soldiers, 22 rotary-wing aircraft and more than 20 emerging military technology systems will be utilized as part of “Operation Lethal Eagle.”
During this time, loud noises may be heard near Fort Campbell and gates to Fort Campbell will be closed or have limited access.
Two Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey aircraft from the Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 774 will also be incorporated into the exercise as proof-of-concept to prepare for the division’s future fielding of the MV-75 tilt-rotor aircraft in 2028.
