Camden, Tenn.–Benton County Sheriff Kenny Christopher and his staff started this morning with prayer that they find Alma Fowler, who has been missing from her assisted living facility in Camden since Wednesday. A Silver Alert was issued Thursday.
Christopher confirmed that Ms. Fowler is deaf and non-verbal. The 75-year-old is 4’11” tall and 110 pounds.
“She also has really bad health issues,” Christopher said. “She’s never left the property before, so this is a real mystery. She has really bad COPD and can’t walk very far.”
Ms. Fowler was last seen near Herrington Place and was wearing a green puffy jacket, tan jeans, white snow boots, and a white headband. She is believed to be traveling on foot.
At 9 a.m. this morning, Sheriff Christopher said he was on his way back to the scene to join the search parties. Dozens of people are involved in the search parties, including deputies, rescue squads, THP, TBI, and TWRA. They are using a variety of equipment, including helicopters and drones.
“We haven’t made any progress in finding her,” he said. “We’ve eliminated a couple of things, but made no progress at this time.”
