Hot Air Balloon Festival Returning To Paris!

PARIS, Tenn. —After a 30-year hiatus, the horizon over West Tennessee is about to get a lot more colorful.

The Henry County Tourism Authority announced this morning the Glow Over Paris!, Hot Air Balloon festival will be taking place Saturday, September 5, at our iconic Eiffel Tower Park.

This landmark event marks the official return of hot air balloons to the region. While Paris hosted a balloon festival in the mid-1990s, the “glow” has been dark since the last event in 1996. Three decades later, the community is invited to witness the revival of this tradition.

An Evening of Heights and Lights

Glow Over Paris offers a magical atmosphere for families, photographers, and adventure seekers alike. The event highlights include:

  • Tethered Balloon Rides: Experience the thrill of flight as you rise above Eiffel Tower Park for a bird’s-eye view of the festivities.
  • The Evening Glow: As the sun sets, the park will transform into a forest of light. Anchored balloons will create a glowing spectacle against the backdrop of Tennessee’s own Eiffel Tower.
  • Live Entertainment: Throwback to the music of the 90’s as Saved By The Music: The Ultimate 90’s Experience will take the stage directly in front of the tower.
  • Food Trucks – enjoy an array of food choices from multiple food trucks.

Bringing Back the Magic

“There is a deep sense of nostalgia surrounding the balloon festival here,” said Tara Wilson, operations manager for the Henry County Tourism Authority. “Bringing this event back to Eiffel Tower Park isn’t just about the lighted display; it’s about reconnecting with our history and creating a new signature tradition for our community and entire region. I can’t wait to see the park packed with families, great food, and awesome music—it’s been way too long, and we are ready to light up the night!”
