Save Grove Tower Association To Host Listening Tour

Paris, Tenn.–The Save Grove Tower Association wants to discover the community’s best “possible possibilities” to preserve Grove Tower, and the group is hosting a Listening Tour aimed at creating that list. Beginning in early March, the group will be at two different locations, on different days and times to welcome interested Henry Countians and their great ideas.

On March 5 and March 9, community members are invited to bring their dreams for the historic Grove Tower Building that can enable the structure to be self-sustaining while serving the community in the process.

“It’s vital that this building is able to pay its own way,” said Association President Danny Veazey.

These are the two planned dates:

Thursday, March 5 at 5:30 pm

Paris/Henry County Chamber of Commerce

2508 East Wood Street, Paris, TN

Monday, March 9 at Noon

L.L.’s Bar and Grill

334 East. Washington Street, Paris, TN

“Most people I’ve encountered are anxious to save Grove Tower, but charting that course should be a group process,’ Veazey said. “As we work to discover ways to repurpose this 120-year-old landmark, we want to hear from current and former Henry Countians with their dreams, their possible possibilities for the future of this remarkable structure. Something of this magnitude must be a group effort.”

Association Vice-President Ramay Winchester added a specific appeal; “We need your ideas for Grove Tower’s next 100 years. But we also need your connections to organizations and individuals who can help. Make no mistake, there is still lots of life left in the Tower Building. If you don’t think so, just visit the Heritage Center or Paris Arts Academy to see how this community holds onto, restores and honors its heritage.”
