Paris, Tenn.–Susan Jones and Ramay Winchester of the Save the Grove Tower Association spoke to Paris Quotarians and guests at its February 25th meeting at Paris Academy for the Arts.
Jones and Winchester told of the many Henry County residents, both current and former, who are interested in restoring and repurposing the 120-year-old Grove Tower Building.
Patrick Smith of L.I. Smith & Associates presented drawings of the building if it could be used for an Inn. He had drawings of a room decorated in blue and white and a lobby on the main floor with murals of former football teams, a map of Henry County on the ceiling and antique light fixtures. He also had a beautiful drawing of the outside of the building with many shrubs and flowers.
The Association wants to hear the former students and community residents’ ideas on how to repurpose the building so they are hosting two meetings. First meeting is at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5th at the Paris-Henry County Chamber office and the second is at noon Monday, March 9th at LL’s.
They said that repurposing the Tower Building will have to be a group effort.
