Hope Ann Moroni

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for the time we were given, we announce the passing of Hope Ann Moroni, age 59. Hope died on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Though her illness lasted only a few months, she faced it with the same strength, wit, and grace that defined her entire life.

She was devoted to her family. She deeply loved her husband David, her partner in laughter, in life, and in everything in between for 26 years. Together they built a life rooted in loyalty, love and joy. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She celebrated every milestone, every story, every small detail they shared. She had a remarkable memory for the little things — the offhand comments, favorite treats, important dates — and would bring them up later to comfort you, surprise you, or, when necessary, hold you accountable. This love and devotion extended to her work family and all the children at Inman Middle School where she worked for the past 11 years.

She had a huge heart and gave from it freely. Compassionate and fiercely loyal, she stood by her people without hesitation. She had a rare gift: she could see the good in situations and in others when no one else could. In tense or difficult moments, she had the ability to break the heaviness with humor — often with a perfectly timed joke — while still making sure the real issue was addressed. She could make you laugh and think at the same time. She was the heart and memory of her cousin group, always the first to wish happy birthdays and remember important funny and embarrassing stories.

Hope had a quick wit and loved to laugh and delighted in a well-executed practical joke. Time spent with friends, sharing stories and creating memories, brought her genuine happiness. She was extremely creative, using her sewing skills to make unique gifts and quilts for others. She enjoyed true crime stories, good conversations, and the simple pleasures that made life rich. She found “her people” to share these interests and fun through Joggers for Jesus, the Mom Squad and her book club. She was a member of the Paris First United Methodist Church.

She was an enthusiastic sports fan, cheering passionately and faithfully for all of her favorite teams and players.

Most of all, she loved life itself. She embraced it fully — with warmth, humor, loyalty, and an open heart. Her presence made people feel seen, remembered, and valued.

She leaves behind a family who adored her, friends who will forever miss her laughter, and countless memories that will continue to bring both smiles and tears. Though her time here feels far too short, the love she gave and the joy she created will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

Hope was born on August 3, 1966, in Athens, Alabama to Patricia Ann Williams Fisher of McLemoresville, Tennessee and the late Grady Alexander.  She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Larry Fisher.

She is survived by her husband David Moroni. Along with her husband and mother, she is survived by her daughters, Keri (Corey) Turner of Paris, and Madaline Moroni also of Paris; two sisters, Denise (Shalene Grinder) Alexander of Nashville, TN, and Amy (Kevin) Campbell of Huntingdon, TN; six grandchildren, Harper Phillips, Jay Williamson, Titus Williamson, Camden Turner, Alexis Turner and Alena Turner; her father-in-law, Thomas Moroni; her brother-in-law, Steve Moroni; nieces, Luci Grinder, Brittany (Charles) Watson, Anna Claire Campbell, and Sarah Moroni; nephews, Elliot Grinder, and Brayden Campbell.
