
MURRAY, Ky. — Presidential Inauguration events for Murray State University’s 15th President Dr. Ron K. Patterson will take place on April 13 and 14. The campus and broader community are invited to attend a variety of special events, including the investiture ceremony on April 14.
Events on April 13 will include a Presidential Panel and Faculty Symposium, opportunities to meet Racer Band, Racer One, and Dunker, listen to the Murray State Commercial Music Ensemble, and learn more about student organizations and residential colleges. Additional activities will include a First Lady cookout and ice cream social, a Racer Athletics t‑shirt toss, and a special student scavenger hunt with prizes.
The investiture ceremony will take place on April 14 beginning at 11 a.m. inside historic Lovett Auditorium, with musical performances by student groups Una Voce and EQ Blue. Following the ceremony, a reception will be held inside Pogue Library. No tickets or RSVP is required to attend the Presidential Inauguration events.

Patterson began his tenure as the 15th President of Murray State University on July 1, 2025. Within his first 120 days of office, he conducted the successful Racer Spirit: Listening and Learning Tour that encompassed more than 30 tour visits with Murray State students, faculty, staff, alumni, community leaders, K-12 and community college partners, business and industry stakeholders, friends, and supporters. Under Patterson’s leadership during the 2025-26 academic year, the University is experiencing a campus footprint which continues to expand with new facility projects underway, innovative academic programs being developed, increases in student retention metrics, and the establishment of a new scholarship fund that emerged from the listening tour, to support and enhance stu
