Paris, Tenn.–Damage was widespread, but thankfully there were no injuries following Sunday night’s storm that moved through Henry County.
Henry County Emergency Management Agency Director Ron Watkins said hundreds were without power, with power poles, utility lines and trees down across the county.
Paris BPU reported that crews were still working this morning repairing damage across their system. “Broken poles and downed trees and lines are continuing to cause outages in some areas,” with some 1,300 customers without power at the height of the storm.
Watkins said a small tree fell on a mobile home at a trailer park on Memorial Drive in Paris, with poles and utility lines down on Hwy. 69S and Hwy. 140 in Cottage Grove. Power lines were across the road at 5436 Henry-Mansfield rd., three trees down at 3522 Hwy. 140S (McKenzie address), tree down on Cherry Island Rd., Buchanan; and a tree down on Dunlap St. near Maplewood Cemetery.
A barn roof was blown off on Lampkins Rd. in Cottage Grove, with pieces of it scattered up and down Lampkins Rd.
