Girl Scout Day Set At Woodlands Nature Station

lbl-girl-scouts-2

Friends of Land Between the Lakes – The Woodlands Nature Station

invites scout troops and families to Girl Scout Day: Eco Scouts on Saturday,

March 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. During this event, Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and

Cadettes can meet the requirements for a nature-related badge through hands-on

programs and activities led by naturalists and volunteers.

“Scouts will discover how to treat outdoor spaces, wildlife, and others with kindness at this year’s Girl Scout Day,” says Vanessa Sivils, naturalist at Woodlands Nature Station. “Scouts can join a hike, meet live animals, try campfire cooking, and much more.” Each activity helps the scout work towards one of their badges, Eco Learner (Daisies), Eco Friend (Brownies), Eco Camper (Juniors), and Eco Trekker (Cadettes). See the full list of activities here.

Everyone is invited to participate, including siblings and non-scouts. Nature Station staff

recommends planning up to a three-hour visit to complete all the activities. All programming is

included with Nature Station admission, which is $7 for ages 16+ and free for ages 15

and under.

Woodlands Nature Station is located in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area at 3146 Silver Trail Road, Cadiz, Kentucky, 42211.
