James Daniel “Dan” Patterson, age 80, of Paris, Tennessee passed away in his home on March 19, 2026.

Born June 18, 1945, Dan was the only child born to the late Jesse Patterson and the late Alma Lee Salmon Patterson.

Dan married Ann McClain Patterson June 2, 1967, and she survives of Paris.

He was an active member of the Eastwood Church of Christ. He was employed by Tappan Manufacturing in Murray, Kentucky. He also worked for the city of Paris, Tennessee and retired after 27 years of service. Locally many knew him as Dan the Man, the voice of Henry County sports on the local radio station. He enjoyed talking sports stats, watching Kentucky Wildcat basketball, Bible study, reading, and spending time with his family. Dan was larger than life and never met a stranger. He could tell who won the 1937 World Series and who threw the most strikes. He loved the smell of old dark fire tobacco barns, fresh cut grass and twinkies.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, he was also survived by his daughters, Cathy Patterson, and Molly Harris; grandchildren Barron Robinson, Ranger Robinson, Maverick Robinson, and Jackson Harris. Dan leaves behind a plethora of beloved family members and friends.
