Freida Jean Redmon Johnson, age 89, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Patriot Health and Rehab in Paris. Her body is to be cremated and her celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
Freida Redmon Johnson was born on January 24, 1937 in Paris, Tennessee to the late Howard Redmon and the late Luna McDavid Redmon. She married Donnie Weston Johnson in 1953 and he preceded her in death, November of 1999. Freida is survived by her son, Tony Johnson of Paris; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her daughter-in-law, Teresa Morgan of Paris; and by other family members and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Johnson is also preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Johnson; son, Glen Johnson; by one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and by her mother-in-law, Vena Mae Johnson, who was like a mother to her.
Mrs. Johnson was a Baptist by faith. She worked as a private home health aid for many years in the community. Freida enjoyed listening to oldies music, watching the Antiques Roadshow on television, and frequented many yard sales. She was a granny to each of her own as well as many in the neighborhood and was very much loved by all.
