hc-habitat

Paris, Tenn.–The Habitat for Humanity of Paris/Henry County is now accepting new applications through May 31st 2026 for the next house to be built, which will be the 34th.

Specific eligibility requirements apply and can be found on the Paris/Henry County Habitat website at http://www.henrycountyhabitat.org . Applicants begin with submitting a pre-application which can be downloaded and printed from the website. Applications should be submitted by mail to Habitat for Humanity of Paris/Henry County, P.O. Box 91, Paris, TN 38242.

The Habitat for Humanity of Paris/Henry County helps low-income individuals and families build and purchase homes with a zero percent APR interest mortgage rate. Its mission is to seek to put God’s love in action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope. So far this chapter of Habitat for Humanity has completed 33 homes in this community

Once a year, using many volunteers, a house is built for a qualifying family.  “The program is considered a hand up, not a hand out” said Linda Frantom, president of the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity.  “The qualifying family must be willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity.  If chosen an applicant must complete at least 400 hours of sweat equity towards the building of their habitat home.  Of course, we always are looking for community volunteers to also help in the home construction effort.  The next family will be selected in June and the house construction will begin in the fall of 2026.”

For more information on volunteering, helping with Habitat, or to donate supplies for a current Habitat house, contact Habitat construction supervisor Hank Rendleman at 731-336-8967.
