Three Henry County residents were arrested Thursday night following a traffic stop on Rison Street. The arrest was made through cooperation between the Paris Police and Henry County Sheriff’s Office and K9 Lisa.

All three are being held on bonds of $250,000.

Paris Police Sergeant Blake Barrett observed a vehicle traveling with only marker lights activated and conducted a traffic stop for the violation. During the stop, Sgt. Barrett noted that two occupants of the vehicle appeared overly nervous. He requested consent to search the vehicle, which was denied by the driver, April Kennedy.

Henry County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Kyle Waldron responded to assist, accompanied by K-9 Lisa. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive alert for the presence of narcotics.

A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of over half a pound of a crystallized substance believed to be methamphetamine. Officers also located smaller amounts of other narcotics, along with digital scales, plastic baggies, and smoking paraphernalia containing methamphetamine residue.

None of the occupants claimed ownership of the substances.

All three individuals were taken into custody and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to manufacture, deliver, or sell. Those arrested include April Kennedy, Lilian Brelsford, and Joshua Johnson.

All three were scheduled to appear in court on March 31, 2026, with bond set at $250,000.
