Emily Dunn Named Iris Festival Citizen Of Year

emily-dunn

Dresden, Tenn.–This year’s Iris Festival Citizen of the Year is Emily Dunn, a lifelong citizen of Weakley County, a 2005 graduate of Dresden High School and a resident of Palmersville. She is the owner of not only one, but two businesses, Urban Designs Salon and Spa and the Urban Boutique, both located on the court square in downtown Dresden.
Emily is the wife to Joseph Dunn and the mother of three children: Rhett, Davi and Hayes. Her family attends Palmersville Church of Christ and they are actively involved in their kids school and sporting events. She is the daughter of the late David Rook and Vickie (Collins) Rook of Palmersville and the granddaughter of Clearence and Phyllis (Garner) Collins of Dresden.
Her vision to own her own salon started small and has grown into more than she could ever imagine. She loves to find inspiration for her businesses everywhere she goes. She is passionate about creating charm and details that truly make a business unique and memorable. When she first started her business she wanted to cultivate an atmosphere for her clients and customers that you would normally have to drive the distance to receive. In a fast pace world where convenience often reigns, she realizes people still yearn to slow down and appreciate the little things— like relationships and local shopping that guienely support local families.
