Palmersville, Tenn.–A storage barn on a chicken operation near Palmersville was destroyed by fire Wednesday night. Around 9 p.m., Palmersville firefighters were dispatched and found the 60′ x 60′ litter storage barn heavily involved in fire. Palmersville responded with six pieces of fire apparatus and 14 personnel. Mutual aid was provided by Cottage Grove and Como Volunteer Fire Departments. Firefighters prevented the blaze from extending into the adjacent animal barns and vegetation. (Cottage Grove VFD photo).
