Paris, Tenn.—And just like it’s supposed to do, the rain held off for the World’s Biggest Fish Fry Grand Parade today.
Assistant Paris Police Chief Ean Reed estimated that some 30,000 people enjoyed the parade, with Grand Marshal Vicki Snyder, 11 school bands, dozens of first responders, county fire departments, Air Evac and Vanderbilt, politicians galore, plus dozens and dozens of creative entries and floats representing local businesses, beauty pageant winners, and more.
11 School Bands kept up the tempo for parade-goers: Henry County High School Marching Band with Henry Elementary; Lakewood School and Harrelson School; Inman Middle; Haywood Middle; Stewart County High; Hollow-Rock/Bruceton; McKenzie High; Peabody High Band Of Gold; Camden High; Bolivar Central Mean Green Marching Tigers; Humboldt Jr. and Sr. High; Jackson Central Merry High.
Gov. Bill Lee helped out at the Fish Tent after the parade, with his entourage.
Parade winners were announced:
Most Beautiful: General Manager’s pick WBFF Miss Pre-Teen; 2. Bonnett & Bobbers Little Royals; 3. Silly Over WBFF from All Temp.
Best Club: 1. Paris Pickleball; 2. VFW 1889; 3. Paris FFA
Best Out of Town: 1. Sons Of Confederate Vets; 2. Miss Dresden; 3. Iris Fest
Best Golf Cart: 1. New Harmony Church; 2. David Webb
Best Business Float: 1. Junk’n Junction L&D Properties; 2. Golden Years TRW; 3. Anna Kay Salon
