PARIS, TN — The Paris-Henry County Animal Shelter will host an open house and ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 7 to celebrate the opening of the Shirley Newman Play Yard and showcase recent improvements at the facility.
The ribbon cutting will mark the official opening of the new Play Yard, a fenced, covered, artificial turf space made possible through a generous donation from community member Shirley Newman. The area provides a safe environment for animals to play, exercise, and interact with potential adopters.
Following the ceremony, the event will continue as an open house. Guests are invited to tour the shelter, meet adoptable animals, and learn more about the adoption process. A food truck will also be on-site.
The shelter has made significant improvements over the past year, and the event offers an opportunity for the community to view those updates firsthand while supporting adoption efforts.
