PARIS, TN – Henry County High School is proud to announce that sophomore McKennie Stone has been selected by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) to serve on its Student Advisory Committee for the 2026-2027 school year.

Stone is one of only 20 student-athletes chosen from across the state to provide a student perspective on TSSAA governance. In this role, she will advocate for sportsmanship and offer feedback on the rules and regulations that shape high school athletics in Tennessee.

The honor was officially presented to Stone during a special meeting attended by Athletic Director Steve Summers, Grove Principal Ryan Muench, and HCHS Principal Michele Webb. Also in attendance were her parents, Jeremy and Heather Stone. Missing was her 8th grade sister, Hattie.

“This is the second year in a row that Henry County has had a representative on the TSSAA Student Advisory Committee,” according to Principal Michele Webb. Stone follows in the footsteps of current representative Hope Tusa. After consulting with Tusa, Stone felt inspired to apply, noting that her unique background as both a player and an official gives her a balanced perspective.

“I’m a player and I also referee, and this opportunity allows me to give voice to both sides,” Stone explained. Her experience is extensive: she has played soccer since age seven, including two years at the varsity level for HCHS, and has served as a referee for ages 8–18 for the past three years.

As a committee member, Stone’s responsibilities will include:

• Attending official TSSAA meetings and regional feedback sessions.

• Providing input on statewide rules and regulations.

• Participating in TSSAA special initiatives.

• Promoting a positive image of student-athletes.

• Volunteering at a minimum of one state championship event.

Athletic Director Steve Summers congratulated the family, noting that Stone and her family will join him at an upcoming regional meeting in Jackson.

Beyond the soccer field, Stone is an active leader within the HCHS community. She is a member of BETA, DECA, HOSA, FCA, LEO, and the Best Buddies Club. Looking toward the future, she plans to play collegiate soccer and major in Sports Management.
