By Mike Hutchens, UC Schools Communications Director

Arrangements for Paul Martin Tohn have been set.

A memorial service for the Union City High School junior, who died in a tragic auto accident on Thursday night, will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.

To allow students and staff to attend those memorials, alterations have been made to UC Schools’ schedules for Monday.

Students will be dismissed at Union City High School on Monday at 9:45 a.m. All students must report to school at regular time (7:40), and buses will run their early route on time.

Principal Jacob Cross said laptops would be taken up, and a few important meetings with students would be held.

At UC Middle School, the school day will begin at regular time (7:55 a.m.) with Awards Day set from 8:15 until 9 o’clock at the Union City High School Auditorium.

All Middle School students will be dismissed at 10 a.m., with buses to run their regular afternoon routes then.

Principal Cole McAdams stressed the need for students to be in attendance at the normal time, with several items of business for students on the schedule.

UCMS’s Field Day has been postponed from Monday afternoon, but will be rescheduled for the fall, according to McAdams.

Union City Elementary School students will report at their regular time on Monday, but will be dismissed early.

Pre-K and Kindergarten will dismiss at 9:30 a.m., and Grades 1-4 will dismiss at 9:45.

Pre-K graduation is still set for Monday evening at the UCHS gymnasium, with doors set to open at 5:30 p.m. The program will begin promptly at 6 o’clock.
