
Kingston, Tenn.–The Tennessee State Tournament is in the books and the Henry County High School Fishing Team never let up, despite heat, humidity and heavy rain. The tournament was a tough one, held at Watts Bar Lake in Kingston.
Coach Kandi Ellis said, “I am super proud of this entire team and their effort this year to prove themselves.”
Here is how team members finished as a team competing against 121 other high school teams from across the state of Tennessee:
Byron and Carter finished in 16th place with 28.44 pounds in two days
Ayden and Colsyn finished in 52nd place with 20.52 pounds in two days
Brysen and Easton finished in 58th place with 19.29 pounds in two days
Fletcher and Emerson finished in 86th place with 10.82 pounds in two days.
Moving forward, there are three teams preparing to attend the Nationals and World Finals the last week of June . They will leave out on June 21 for two practice days and a half, and then they will compete Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and the top teams will fish on Saturday in the FLW/SAF .
They will be having a fundraiser on Saturday, June 13 at Walmart from 9 AM to 2 PM taking donations and having a bake sale a couple of teams will go to IGA that day.
Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. This will be a long week and an expensive tournament .
