Madison County Fire Department crews have been on scene of a multiple-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 near mile marker 73 eastbound.
This is an extremely serious and difficult scene, and crews are expecting a long scene time. Traffic is being rerouted, and they ask everyone traveling through the area to please avoid this section of I-40 if possible, slow down, and give emergency crews room to work.
More importantly, they ask you to please pray for everyone involved in this crash, the victims, their families, and everyone affected by this tragedy.
They also ask that you keep the firefighters, EMS personnel, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, and everyone else working this scene in your prayers. Our crews have been working for an extended period in extreme heat and incredibly difficult conditions. This has been a heartbreaking and horrific scene for everyone involved.
Please continue to pray for those we are here to help, and for the men and women who are working tirelessly to bring this incident to a close.
Please avoid the area, be patient, and keep everyone involved in your prayer
