Paris, Tenn.–A Paris man was treated for K9 bites after he refused to comply with orders from Henry County Sheriff’s Deputies attempting to arrest him on warrants Sunday.
Joseph B. Coleman, age 44, Volunteer Drive, was charged with resisting the stop, halt and frisk command, evading arrest, aggravated burglary and being a fugitive from another state.
Cpl. Dalton Watson found Coleman sitting on a back porch on Hwy. 69A when he arrived Sunday evening with other deputies to serve the warrants.
According to the report, Coleman refused commands to lie down on the ground, ran into the carport where Watson warned him he would be releasing his K9 Jagr if Coleman didn’t comply.
As Coleman tried to go inside his house, Watson released Jagr and issued the bite command to him. Jagr reportedly bit Coleman on the right leg. According to the report, Coleman continued to ignore orders from all of the officers to lie down before finally complying.
Coleman was treated by the County EMS at the sheriff’s office for dog bites. He is being held on $10,000 bond.
