Commemorate 100th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage

What: On Tues., Aug. 18, 2020, Discovery Park of America will be ringing bells throughout the outdoor heritage park at noon to celebrate the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage and the passing of the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote.
This event will be live on Discovery Park’s Facebook page and Instagram.

Discovery Park has three pop-up exhibits on Women’s Suffrage and Tennessee’s role in the
passing of the 19th Amendment. All three exhibits are free with park admission and will be on
display in Art Hall through Dec. 30, 2020.

The three exhibits include:
 To Make Our Voices Heard, Tennessee Women’s Fight for the Vote from the Tennessee
State Library and Archives and the Tennessee State Museum
 Votes for Women: A Portrait of Persistence from the Smithsonian Institute
 Rightfully Hers from The National Archives in partnership with the Women’s Suffrage
Centennial Commission.
