Paris, Tenn.–Even with the usual Relay for Life event cancelled this year, Henry County Relay for Life organizers have been working hard planning an event for downtown Paris.
Relay Spokesperson Debra Stoope said they will be hosting a luminaria event from 5-7 p.m. Friday, October 9 to honor cancer survivors.
As always during the traditional Relay event, names on the luminarias will be read. The event will be held on the north side of the Henry County Courthouse and luminarias will be set up along the sidewalk for everyone to view.
T-shirts designed by Greg Pierce will be presented to survivors. Minimum donations of $5 are required for the luminarias. Please designate the team you would like your luminaria donation to be credited to.
Survivors who want to attend the luminaria event should confirm with Stoope. She said Relay for Life needs to know shirt size for the survivor T-shirt.
Text Stoope at 336-5923 or call and leave a message at 642-8329. Shirts are available in children’s sizes and adult sizes from small to 5XL.
Relay for Life is still taking donations despite not having its regular event. Donations may be mailed to Relay for Life, P.O. Box 1505, Paris.
