Union City, Tenn.–Once more — and surely not for the last time — COVID-19 and the protocols associated with the pandemic have altered the Union City sports schedule.
The Dresden at UC District 13A basketball doubleheader, slated for Tuesday night, has been postponed due to members of the Lion boys’ team being quarantined. No make-up date has been announced for the contest.
The Dresden girls were not allowed to play due to a Weakley County policy prohibiting one team from playing when another from the same school cannot.
Later in the week, Union City will play at Greenfield (Friday) in a make-up twinbill that was originally scheduled for last week. The girls’ game is set to tip off at 6 p.m., with the boys to follow.
On Saturday, the UC boys will play Bartlett at Dyersburg at 4:30 p.m.
Ticket info for both the Friday and Saturday games will be announced later in the week.
