Martin Named Rotarian Of Year; Awards Given To Perkins, Brown

McKenzie, Tenn.–The McKenzie Rotary Club held its annual Christmas get together, although socially distanced, at Block City Pizza in McKenzie on Tuesday.

Members in attendance enjoyed a catered meal from Mallards Restaurant in Huntingdon.  During the business session of the meeting President Matt Lane presented District Assistant Governor Jason Martin with a plaque recognizing him as the Oscar R. Owen Rotarian of the Year for 2019-2020.  Lane pointed out that as the placque says, so Jason has exemplified the Rotary creed of Service Above Self.

Two other awards were presented by Martin recognizing the Ed R. Perkins Humanitarian Award given to Clark M. Brown for recognition of dedication, service, and commitment to the ideals of Rotary.  Through his efforts as well as other members of the Rotary Club, the club became a Paul Harris Fellow Club were every member of the club has become a Paul Harris Fellow.
The Rotary Service Above Self Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Ed R. Perkins for his lifetime of exemplary leadership, loyalty and dedication to the ideals of Rotary through his 60 years of service.
President Elect Sandi Roditis provided an entertaining program for the season with prizes presented to members for their knowledge of Christmas movies through the years.
