Paris, Tenn.–The First United Methodist Church in Paris will be hosting a 2nd Harvest mobile food distribution event again tomorrow, Saturday, February 27th.
No appointment is necessary; the public should come to the Poplar Street parking lot between the hours of 9-11.30am.
Bring a form of I.D. to show you live in Henry County. Maximum of two households per vehicle.
Church officials said this is a drive-thru event, volunteers will load your car for you. To help, please make sure your truck or truck bed is cleaned out.
Every Monday and Friday, from 11:00am – 12:30pm at the Poplar Street entrance of the church, the non perishable food pantry is open. You need to show proof of Henry County residency to be eligible for this pantry, and church officials will take down a little information such as address, date of birth and number of occupants in the household. You can visit this pantry every 30 days. There are no appointments, just show up between the above times.
Every 3rd and 4th Tuesday of the month the church holds its perishable food distribution. These also are drive-thru events, and again there is no appointment necessary. There is no fixed time the distribution starts as they are dependent on what time the truck arrives, we usually start distributing food around 11am. For this give away you need to line up your car in the McNeill Street parking lot and wait your turn to go through the line.
Whenever grant monies are available, the 2nd Harvest Mobile Food Distribution events are held, such as the one tomorrow. Officials said they try to have at least one a year, sometimes two. This is where we get a whole truck load of food to give away. There are a few canned items, but the bulk of it is perishable.
