McKenzie, Tenn.–Dustin Billings has been named as TCAT McKenzie’s new HVAC Instructor as of March 23, 2021. Dustin was raised in Huntingdon and currently resides there with his family.
Billings was one of late HVAC instructor, Terry Wilson’s, first students and a member of his advisory board. He is NATE certified and brings over 17 years of HVAC experience into the classroom. He graduated TCAT McKenzie in 2006 and was top of his class. “I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. Terry had no teaching experience at the time, but he prepared me for the field. He was a very cool teacher, but he was also my friend. I only hope I can make him proud,” Billings said.
When Billings heard the news about Terry’s passing he was concerned for the future of his students. “I felt like God was telling me to apply. I feel like Terry would get a kick out of it,” Dustin said when asked why he applied for the instructor position.
Billings is excited to teach his vast knowledge of the HVAC field to the current and future HVAC students. “The HVAC field is in need of technicians and I hope to change that need by giving an opportunity and skill set to those who wish to have a career in the field of HVAC/R,” Dustin eagerly said.
