Cottage Grove Freedom Festival To Shine With Parade, Fireworks, New Activities

Cottage Grove, Tenn.–The Cottage Grove Freedom Festival is back this year–and with new activities.

The Freedom Festival will be held all day Monday, July 5, and new activities will include a Cardinal Park Jail, Reptile Exhibit and Lawn Mower Drag Races.

Grand Marshals will be in memory of the late Jim and Bettye Wheatley.

The event begins at 9 a.m. with the turkey shoot, followed by the Grand Parade at 10 a.m.

At 10:30 a.m., the games begin, along with the cake walk, Firehouse International Kitchen, hay rides, Cardinal Park Jail, and reptile exhibit.

At 11 a.m., the Country Store opens and the Lawn Mower Drag Races are held.

1 a.m. is the auction, 2 p.m. is tug of war contest and the karaoke contest, followed by bingo at 3, live music from 6-9 p.m. and fireworks at 9.
