Fulton Street Closed Indefinitely Due To Road Erosion

fulton-road-cave-in

Fulton, Ky.–The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has closed a section of KY 1718/Fourth Street in the City of Fulton, effective immediately.

KY 1718/Fourth Street is closed between Carr Street and Third Street due to erosion around a manhole near the Harris Fork Branch Culvert.  This closure is along KY 1718 at the dog-leg curve just east of Carr Street.

There is no marked detour.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet engineers and the City of Fulton will be at the site on Tuesday to determine the cause and extent of the erosion and to start developing a repair plan.

The duration of this closure is unknown.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will attempt to provide timely notice when repairs are complete and the roadway is able to reopen.
