Fort Campbell Issues New Mask Mandate

fort-campbell

Clarksville, Tenn.–Effective immediately, all service members, federal employees, onsite contractor employees and visitors – regardless of vaccination status – will wear a mask while indoors all Fort Campbell facilities, in accordance with the Deputy Secretary of Defense’s Memorandum, “Updated Mask Guidance for all DoD Installations and Other Facilities,” and guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The COVID-19 Delta variant has caused an increase in reported cases of the virus on Fort Campbell and in the surrounding communities. The CDC currently defines Montgomery County, Tennessee as an area of high community transmission for COVID-19 and Christian County, Kentucky as an area of substantial transmission for COVID-19. Transmission levels, as well as other local information regarding COVID-19 across the region, can be referenced at https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view.
Personnel executing physical readiness training are not required to wear a mask during physical activity. Unvaccinated individuals must wear masks while in transit in an indoor facility. Upon completion of physical readiness training, unvaccinated Soldiers are required to wear a mask.
Fully vaccinated personnel while alone in an office containing four walls and a ceiling are exempt from wearing a mask in their office.
All Service members and their families are exempt from wearing a mask when in the immediate vicinity of their on-post residences. Masks should still be worn when physical distancing is not feasible during gatherings with people not from the same household.
Soldiers, Department of the Army or Department of Defense civilians, eligible contractors and beneficiaries may receive the vaccination on a walk-in basis without an appointment at the Fort Campbell Passenger Processing Center at 7162 Hedgerow Road, 6:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. from Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
