
The McKenzie Fire & Rescue has set up a memorial at the fire station for 21-year-old Drake Pate, a firefighter who lost his life in an ATV wreck over the weekend in Carroll County.
Pate was a firefighter with McKenzie Fire & Rescue and a lineman for Cable South.
As we reported earlier, Pate was a passenger on the ATV. The accident occurred on Cherrywood Road in Carroll County at 11:15 p.m Saturday.
Funeral services are set for Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Long Heights Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Friday at 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home and 11 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment is at Hinkledale Cemetery, Brother George Avery is the officiant. The pallbearers to serve are John Trevathan, Tyler Trevathan, James Marlow, Will Jones, Colton Wyatt and Tucker Green.
He was born in McKenzie on November 26, 1999 to Joel Pate and Tammy Trevathan.
He is preceded in death by his great grandfather Billy “Pa Bill” Rich, and grandfather John Ozment.
He is survived by his parents Tammy (Kenny) Trevathan, Joel (Amanda) Pate ,Chandra Pate and Pat(Brandy) Veazey, his girlfriend Dalana Veazey, six sisters Sophie Pate, Olivia Kay Pate, Jaden Pate, Willow Pate, Lacey Trevathan and Harley Trevathan and three brothers John Austin Trevathan, Tyler Trevathan and Gavin Hicks. Great grandmother Adell Rich, grandparents Bobby (Jettie) Bowers, Barbara Pate, Bobby (Gloria) Pate, Terry(Velda) Tegethoff and Dennis(Gail) Edwards, Uncles Jason(Andrea) Hoffman, Bobby Joe Hoffman, James (Mitzi) Trevathan, Kevin Trevathan, Gaylon Biggs, Jeremy (Gina) Pate and Jason Edwards, and Aunts Candy (Josh) Lowe and Cheri (Tracy) Townes
