Paris, Tenn.–A Buchanan man was taken into custody by Henry County Sheriff’s deputies on charges of domestic assault, resisting arrest and assault on an officer.
In the course of the arrest Tuesday night for domestic assault, Darrell Beckham, age 44, allegedly kicked one of the deputies.
The sheriff’s office was called to the scene around 10:30 p.m. on a call about the assault. The victim had been hit in the face and kicked on her body during an argument with Beckham, according to the report.
Deputy William Whitaker and Cpl. Dalton Watson arrived at the scene and found Beckham was not there. They returned around 11:30 p.m. when they were notified that Beckham had returned home. In the course of the arrest, Beckham resisted and kicked Whitaker in the leg. Deputy Whitaker then used a taser on him.
