It’s Race Day for Team USA in the Paralympics, with Kirsten Sass of McKenzie guiding Amy Dixon in the Triathlon. Sass and Dixon, a legally blind athlete of California will compete for the USA as a team.
The live coverage for the Paralympic Triathlon begins at 4 PM CST and can be watched on www.nbcolympics.com! Kirsten and Amy’s scheduled race time is 6:30 PM CST.
As we previously reported, Kirsten Winkler Sass was given tremendous sendoffs in Carroll County last week as she headed to Tokyo to participate in the Paralympics Triathlon.
Carroll County Mayor Joseph Butler and McKenzie Mayor Jill Holland read proclamations honoring her. Children and adults lined roadways in both McKenzie and Huntingdon. Staff at the Baptist Hospital-Carroll County in Huntingdon also gave her a send-off with signs of good luck.
