McKenzie Rebels End Season Undefeated, No. 1 In State

McKenzie, Tenn.–The McKenzie Rebels celebrated senior night by defeating region foe McEewn 42 to 6. Marquez Taylor rushed for 4 touchdowns. Jackson Cassidy competed 2 touchdown passes to Zac Aird and Andrew Cole.  McKenzie had 400 yards on the night while McEwen had a total of 153.

The Rebels, with ranking of number 1 in the state will host the first round of the on state playoffs next week in McKenzie. Official announcement of their opponent won’t be made till Saturday but it looks like they will host Moore County. Dresden will play Eagleville. McEwen will travel to Cornersville amd Gleason will travel to Fayetville.
The Henry County Patriots ended their regular season in 2nd place in region play Friday night at Patriot stadium defeating Portland 56-0.  Henry County scored first with Luke Jackson recovering a fumble and running it back for a touchdown. Henry County scored four touchdowns in the second quarter.  Jace Kendall scored one touchdown Morgan Barrick two and Cole Townsend a fourth. Henry county lead at the end of the first half 35 to nothing.
Jayce Kendall scored a single touchdown in the third quarter to lead 42 to 0. Fourth quarter action saw Barrick run for another score and Lavon Tharpe completed the night with a touch down run. Gavin Lindsey completed 7 point after attempts and Aiden Frye  completed the last one on the evening.  Barrick, a junior, over the past two weeks has rushed for seven touchdowns and almost 350 yards.
Henry County will host the first round playoff game next Friday night at Patriot Stadium our old region foe Dyer County. With a win the Patriots will travel to Briton or Memphis Central.
