
Mayfield, Ky.–In a New Year’s Day arrest, Graves County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a couple from Alabama for stealing property from the tornado damaged area.
Sheriff Jon Hayden said in a press release, “This afternoon at approximately 2:30p.m. while conducting extra patrols, deputies from the Campbell County Kentucky Sheriff’s Office who had been assigned to extra patrol damaged areas observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Cardinal Road. The vehicle was loaded down with property suspected as being stolen.”
Through their investigation, Graves and Campbell County Sheriffs deputies determined that the items had been stolen from property damaged during the tornado from a building.
The two suspects, a man and a woman have been arrested. The female was found to have a Methamphetamine smoking pipe hidden on her person as well.
More information will be released later, Hayden said.
