Dyersburg, Tenn.–A Dyersburg man is in custody for rape of a 10-year-old child.
In October 2021, the Dyersburg Police Criminal Investigation Division launched an investigation into allegations of the rape of a 10-year-old child. The investigation determined that Trey’Shawn Ward, age 18, Dyersburg, raped the 10-year-old victim in early October in her home while visiting. Ward is an acquaintance of the family.
Ward was indicted in December by the Dyer County Grand Jury, and is in custody pending Dyer County Circuit Court. The Tennessee Department of Children Services and the Carl Perkins Center assisted in the investigation.
