
The number of active COVID cases in our area continue to skyrocket with record-breaking totals. Areahospitals are reporting much higher than normal patient numbers with the Omicron variant.
In Wednesday’s data release from the Tennessee Health Department, the number of active cases in counties in our area have shown dramatic increases from already high totals.
As we reported previously, Tennessee Health Department officials are no longer providing daily COVID-19 data releases. The Tennessee Department of Health is now releasing weekly updates each Wednesday. The data will include the previous Sunday through Saturday period.
In Obion County, this week’s total is 1,631, up from 1,298 last week.
In Henry County, the total is now 785, up from 578 last week.
Carroll County: Total now 1,055, up from 863.
Weakley County: Total now 1,147, up from 833 last week.
Dyer County: Total now 1,772, up from 1,468 last week.
Benton County: 399 this week, up from 321 last week.
Stewart County: 328 this week, up from 249 last week.
The public can receive COVID-19 vaccines or tests at the area County Health Departments.
