
Paris268,, Tenn.–It was another big day for the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction, with $18, 317 raised by the First Baptist Church in Paris, bringing the grand total raised so far this year to $268,441.
First Baptist had several unique items on the auction block, including an old pew from the church, a piano, a Chick King baseball card and Bill Hudson football cards.
With the annual friendly rivalry between the First Baptist Church and the First United Methodist Church each year, FUMC will have its work cut out for it next weekend.
Saturday’s auctioneer was Andy Collins, with the ladies of First Baptist manning the phones.
On Monday, items will be donated by Henry/Bunns community, Henry Beta Club, Senior Citizens Center, Point Pleasant Baptist Church and Open Doors Church.
The annual auction started Jan. 10 and will continue through March 2, raising funds for over 80 local non-profit and service organizations.
Photos of items that are donated each day are posted on the “Henry County Helping Hand” Facebook page. Anyone who wants to bid on any item can describe the item or give the number of the item as posted on the Facebook page.
