Services For Former Fish Fry GM Bill Reed Set

William M. “Bill” Reed, known for serving as treasurer of the World’s Biggest Fish Fry and general manager and as a former president of the Tennessee Elks Association and loyal member for 55 years of of the Paris Elks Lodge 816, has died. Reed, of Paris, Tenn., was 77 when he died Tuesday, March 29, in Paris.

He worked for Ellis Heating Company for 45 years as a plumber, pipefitter, and construction foreman.  He was an active Jaycee for many years.  He served in numerous capacities including Exalted Ruler of the Paris Lodge and Trustee of the local lodge.  He was very active in the Elks Hoop Shoot and served as Ritual Judge for Elks for 20 years.  He was Baptist by belief.

Bill was born January 13, 1945, in Dukedom, Ky., to the late Monroe Alfred Reed and the late Stella Ferrell Reed.

He was married March 22, 1968, to Patsy Baldridge Reed, who survives, of Paris.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by his two sons: Eric Reed (Jennifer Ellis), of Martin, Tenn., and Ean Reed (Mandy Glass), of Paris; and four grandchildren, Emily Reed and Abigail Reed, both of Paris, and Autumn and Will Ellis, both of Waverly, Tenn.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tenn., 38242.  Memorial visitation will be Friday, April 1, 2022, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the memorial service beginning at 7 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Danny Robbins officiating.
