Dickson Co. FD Helping With Smoky Mountain Fires

dickson-co-fd

Earlier this morning, members from City of Dickson Fire Department, Dickson EMA, and Claylick Fire Department left at the request of Tennessee Fire Chief’s Mutual Aid System headed towards the Smoky Mountains.

The departments were able to send crews with a command vehicle, brush unit, pumper, and tanker/tender.

The departments wish these crews the very best and we pray for a safe return. Our hearts are with those affected by these fires.

Multiple news outlets have reported that the fire spanned 1,000 acres and was completely uncontained Wednesday evening according to authorities.

Sevier County spokesman Perrin Anderson told outlets that at least 35 buildings were burned Wednesday and one person was airlifted to UT Medical Center.
