Dickson County, Tenn.–As we celebrate the Easter weekend the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office would like to ask everyone to take a moment to remember Martha Leanne Green, her family, and friends. April 15, 2022, will be the 35th Anniversary of her disappearance.
Martha Leanne Green was reported missing on April 15, 1987. She was last seen in a disabled vehicle parked on the side of Highway 46 near Fabric Road in Dickson. Her brother picked her up at the Holiday Inn where she worked. As they were headed home their car ran out of gas. As they waited, a couple and their children returning home from church stopped to help. The couple took her brother to a nearby gas station. Leanne chose to stay in the car. When they arrived back at the car about 10 minutes later, Leanne was gone but her purse was still in the car.
An investigation was initiated by the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office. It grew into a major investigation involving many jurisdictions, including most of the surrounding agencies, the T.B.I. and F.B.I., and agencies all across the country. Despite all the work, Leanne’s disappearance remains a mystery. Hundreds of people have been interviewed and hundreds of searches have been conducted.
As recently as this week investigators from the Sheriff’s Office and T.B.I. met to review the case and discuss how to proceed.
The Dickson County Sheriff’s Office asks that you help us keep this story alive and take moment to pray for Leanne, her family, and her friends. Unfortunately, Leanne’s mother passed away without learning what happened to her daughter.
If you have any information on Leanne’s case, please contact the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigation Division at 615-789-4130 or tips@dicksoncounty.net.
