Union City, Tenn.–The drill for fans seeking tickets to Friday night’s state quarterfinal playoff game between Union City and Huntingdon is the same.

Tickets can be purchased online and will also be available at the gate for the contest, which will have a 7 p.m. kickoff at Paul Ward Stadium.

Advance tickets for the game will be sold via the GoFan digital ticket platform (https://gofan.co/tssaa) for $8 each (plus fees). Physical tickets will be available at the gate for $10 apiece.

The two tradition-rich programs have met five times previously in the postseason, with the Tornadoes having won three of those contests – two in the semifinals and one in the quarterfinals.

Union City holds a 17-13 lead in the all-time series.

Friday’s game will match a pair of 10-win teams and will be a rematch of a regular season contest won by the Mustangs, 27-20.

Huntingdon was ranked sixth in the final Associated Press rankings and has easily handled a pair of Memphis foes in the first two rounds of the postseason – including No. 2 ranked and previously unbeaten Fairley 48-6 last week.

The Mustangs are in the playoffs for the 32nd time in program history – this year marking their 16th straight appearance – and have posted a 51-30 record all-time in the postseason. Huntingdon won the 2003 Class 2A state title and was runner-up in 1999, 2004 and 2012.

Tenth-ranked Union City is coming off a 10-6 second-round victory over No. 4 Westview, officially dethroning the Class 2A state champions.

The Tornadoes have qualified for the playoffs in 31 seasons – including the last 18 in a row. UC owns four state titles (2009, 2013, 2014 and 2017) and finished as runners-up in 1997, 2000 and 2005.

 UC’s all-time playoff record is 54-26.
