Paris, Tenn.–You know the Christmas season is officially over when you see the Paris Parks and Recreation employees taking down the 20′ foot tree, lights and decorations at the downtown plaza. The decorations in the plaza were a real showpiece for the holiday season with the Christmas tree four feet higher than previous years, more lights and decorations. In photo, Clayton Lee is at the wheel of the fork lift, raising John Thompson upward to dismantle the tree and bulbs. Paris Public Works employees took down the Christmas lights on the street lights late last week. Parks Director Tony Lawrence said the water in the plaza fountain is usually turned back on in March each year. (Shannon McFarlin photo).
