Sarah Frances Winsett

Sarah Frances Winsett, 93, of Springville, died Friday, February 3, 2023, at AHC of Paris.

Born Friday, December 6, 1929, in Birmingham, Alabama, Sarah was the daughter of the late Albert Poe and the late Queenie Hurt Poe.

Sarah was a member of Springville Baptist Church.

She formerly worked for Salant & Salant as well as the Clippard Plant.

She had previously taught Sunday School at various churches for many years. Sarah was widely known for her homemade sourdough bread and for handing out rocks as a reminder that Jesus is the rock of our salvation.

She married Robert Ivoe Winsett Sunday, August 31, 1947, and he preceded her in death Wednesday, February 7, 1996.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Winsett of Springville; a granddaughter, Julie (Brian) Webb of Paris; great-grandchildren, Sarah (Patrick) Yanakopulos, Brianna (Peyton) Clements, and Truitt Webb; and great-great-grandchildren, Mason Clements, Addalyn Clements, and Shepherd Yanakopulos.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter: Cathy Winsett; a grandson: Robert “Big Shane” McKnight; and two brothers: James Poe and Tommy Poe.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./ P.O. Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday, February 6, 2023, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Her funeral service will be held Monday, February 6, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Bobby Sanders and Brian Parsons officiating.

Burial will follow the service in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Springville.
