
Longtime Rives resident Lou Alice Robison, 85, passed away 3:41 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2023, at her home.
Lou was born Wednesday, December 8, 1937, in Crockett County, daughter of the late R.D. and Florence Truman (Vestal) Hill.
Lou was a retired insurance clerk of Cane Creek Rehab Center in Martin, and was also a long-time insurance clerk at Baptist Memorial Hospital/Obion County General Hospital in Union City. She was a 1955 graduate of Rives High School where she was an excellent basketball player and also a fine student as she was in the top 10 of her graduating class. She enjoyed yard sales, flea markets, collecting salt/pepper shakers, Thomas Kinkade items, and researching her family genealogy.
She married William “Bill” Robison Friday, November 20, 1964, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He passed away Friday, April 30, 2004.
She was also preceded in death by her son: Larry Keith Elam; her poodle: LB, and both sets of grandparents: Do Right and Sammie Sue Ellen (Whitby) Hill and Leonard Nelson and Maude Myrtle (Elam) Vestal.
She is survived by four sons: Curtis J. Elam (Marcia), of Beaufort, South Carolina; Lynn Elam, of Rives; Mike Robison (Shirley), of Gates; and Ken Robison (Nedra), of Eads; one brother: Bobby Hill (Wanda), of Union City; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home will be in charge of the graveside service which will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Rives on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. There will be no visitation at the funeral home and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at service time.
