Weldon Wade Gallimore, 83, of Puryear, Tennessee, died Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray, Kentucky.
Weldon was born Tuesday, July 3, 1939, in Puryear, Tennessee, to the late Daron Weldon Gallimore and the late Virginia Ann Wade Gallimore. He was the eldest of four children.
He was a longtime row crop farmer in the Puryear Community and retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Transportation as a civil engineer.
Weldon was a lover of nature. He enjoyed bird watching, hunting, and fishing. He loved woodworking and was very knowledgeable of trees.
He was an avid reader, especially subjects about history. He liked to collect arrowheads and was interested in genealogy.
Weldon was a good story and joke teller and loved entertaining family and friends.
He was a member of Foundry Hill RLDS Church in Puryear, Tennessee.
He was married Tuesday, December 27, 1960, to Gayneita Valentine Gallimore, who survives, of Puryear, Tennessee.
Along with his wife, he is survived by five children: Andy Gallimore, Melinda Deibert, Jennifer Gallimore, Pam Chesser, and Allison Sandlin; one sister: Carol Orr; one brother: Byron Gallimore; one brother-in-law: Hal Underwood; and 11 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Weldon was preceded in death by one daughter: Lisa Gallimore; and one sister: Kay Underwood.
The body is to be cremated. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
