Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Farm Bureau has made no formal plans to move its headquarters, according to Agency Manager Josh Simmons. The Paris Municipal Regional Planning Commission approved a site plan for a proposed new building Thursday night, but Simmons said Friday morning, the Farm Bureau will stay where it is on Poplar Street while its board explores its options.
The planning commission Thursday night approved the site plan for a proposed new building contingent upon engineer’s approval.
Simmons said, “We have no definitive plans to move now,” he said. “All the planning commission did was approve our site plan. Our board hasn’t approved a relocation plan at this time. We’re waiting for the directors to give direction right now.”
According to the site plan, the new Farm Bureau building would be 4,910 square feet and would be located on East Wood Street/Hwy. 79 across from Hidden Acres. It would be on the same side of the highway as the Stockdale’s store which is under construction. The tract is 1.64 acres and triangular shaped, with parking and site detention pond.
