Paris, Tenn.–At a surprise get-together Sunday, the Henry County Fair Association dedicated the 2023 Fair Book to John Perkins, a long-time cattleman, supporter of Henry County youth, former Fair Board member, and manager of the Walters-Perkins Century Farm.
Surrounded by family, Perkins was emotional as the dedication was read by Fair Association official Deneicia Gregson.
This year’s Henry County Fair will be held August 11-19. The theme is “Where the Green Grass Grows” and the “Year of Corn” will be celebrated.

Perkins is manager of the Walters-Perkins Century Farm in Manleyville which was stated in 1892. The dedication notes that the Century Farm is one of Perkins’ pride and joys, with another being his growing family as he is ‘Pops’ to Mabry and Macon, who are continuing the family tradition in agriculture.
