Paris, Tenn.–Paris Police have not been able to make contact with next of kin of the pedestrian who was killed in Tuesday’s accident in downtown Paris.
Assistant Police Chief Ean Reed told RadioNWTN, “We’re still attempting to contact the next of kin and we’ve encountered significant road blocks in trying to make contact.”
Paris Police and other law enforcement agencies are working to make contact and in the meantime, the investigation has been turned over to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Until next of kin have been notified, the names of those involved in the accident will not be released.
A pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle at the intersection of West Wood St. and North Market St. Tuesday afternoon. Reed said Tuesday that the victim was transported from the scene by the Henry Co. Emergency Medical Services to Henry County Medical Center’s emergency room, where the victim was pronounced deceased.
The street was blocked for some time as Paris Police and the Tennessee Highway Patrol Critical Incident Response Team investigated.
